General

Who can use Clearblue® Advanced Period Tracker?

This product is suitable if you are not using hormonal birth control methods as long as your menstrual cycles usually last anywhere between 21 and 60 days.

If you have recently been pregnant or stopped breastfeeding, it may take time for your periods to return to normal. You may wish to wait for 2 menstrual cycles before using this product.

Who can’t use Clearblue® Advanced Period Tracker?

It is not suitable for use if you are using any form of hormonal birth control, are pregnant, breastfeeding, have polycystic ovarian syndrome, or are taking fertility drugs containing luteinizing hormone or human Chorionic Gonadotrophin.

How does it work?

The tests measure changes in your hormones over your cycle and the smart algorithm in the app interprets your cycle and hormone data to predict when your period is most likely to come. This great value pack of 18 urine tests means you can test across 3 menstrual cycles, which for most is 3 months of use, helping the app learn more about you and help to improve your period prediction.

Why should I track my period?

Tracking your menstrual periods on a regular basis can help you see your typical cycle length and you can work out if it’s regular. Tracking your cycle has many benefits, like helping you prepare for menstrual symptoms or plan for upcoming events, plus it can take some of the stress out of your period arriving when you least expect it.

You can also track any symptoms related to your cycle, such as headaches, mood swings and appetite changes, plus it could help you monitor irregular periods, spotting, or any abnormal discharge over the course of your cycle. Charting your symptoms over time can help you work out potential triggers of your symptoms and could assist your doctor to diagnose conditions such as PMS (premenstrual syndrome) and menstrual migraine, for example.

Tracking your cycle is also useful if you are trying for a baby, as it can help you know when to take an ovulation test to predict your fertile days or when to take a pregnancy test.

What is a ‘normal’ cycle length?

The first day of your period marks the first day of your menstrual cycle (day 1). A normal cycle should last between 21 and 35 days but women may experience short cycles (fewer than 21 days) or long cycles (more than 35 days). Every woman and their cycles are unique. Your cycle can also vary from month-to-month. This may be due to the natural variation in your cycles but also environmental factors like stress or over-exercising. In fact, in a recent 2020 study, 52.3% of women sampled had cycle lengths that varied by 5 or more days and fewer than 1% of women had the same cycle length across four consecutive cycles*.

When setting up your Clearblue® me app, you can select between 10 and 60 days as your average cycle length.

How long should my period last?

A period usually lasts between 3 to 8 days, with the average period lasting 5 days. Many women report that their heaviest bleeding happens in the first two days.

When setting up your Clearblue® me app, you can select between 1 and 10 days for your usual period length. Don’t worry, if one time your period is shorter or longer than usual, you can edit it on your Calendar or within the Track page.

Keep logging your period to unlock cycle history in ‘More’. Cycle history calculates the average period length across 6 previous cycles.

In the days leading up to your period, you may experience headaches, breast tenderness or premenstrual symptoms (PMS). You can log your symptoms in the Track page. Check out ‘Why should I track my period?’ for more info.

Using the app

How do I record my result?

Tap ‘Take a test’ on the calendar page on the days the app tells you to test. Follow the simple how to test instructions, waiting 3 minutes before you read your result.

To record your result, select the image where the test line is closest to your test line.

The app securely stores your previous test results so you don’t need to remember your results from one test to the next. Your results may vary from day to day and cannot be interpreted without the app.

Once you’ve performed all six tests, the app will confirm or update your period prediction based on your personal hormone levels.

My test only has one line. What should I do?

The control line on your test shows if your test has worked. If you don’t see 2 lines, then your test has not worked this time. This may be because:

• Too much or too little urine has been used
• The absorbent tip was not kept pointing downward
• The test was not laid flat after urine was applied

Don’t worry, simply tap the ‘Test error’ button and follow the in-app instructions to test again on your next test day.

How do I log the start and end of my period?

You can log your period via the Calendar or Track page.
Calendar: tap the pink ‘Log period’ button
Track: tap 'light’, ‘medium’ or ‘heavy’ period flow


The current day and following days will be marked as your period, according to your period length. The end of your period will be logged automatically. If your period ends before this, tap the pink ‘Period ended’ button. Any period flow days after the current day will be deleted.

How do I edit or delete symptom data I have entered?

1. Go to the (+) Track page and and navigate to the day you wish to edit. Alternatively, click on the day on the Calendar page
2. To log, tap to select period flow or symptoms
3. Tap again to unselect period flow or symptoms

Note: only data within the current cycle can be edited. To edit or delete data in a previous cycle, you must first delete the period flow in your current cycle. The deleted data will also be removed from the cloud.

Account and data

How do I sync my data?

Your data will be automatically synced to your cloud account. What that means is if you change or lose your phone, you don’t have to worry about losing your data.

To push a manual sync, tap on Menu > My account > ‘Sync my data with cloud account’.

How do I change my email or password?

Tap on Menu > My account > edit the field you wish to change.

To change your email:
1. Enter your new email and existing password and tap ‘Save’
2. Follow the link in the email we’ll send you
3. Go back to the Clearblue® me app and sign in with your new details

To change your password:
1. Enter your new password (minimum 6 characters using upper and lower case letters and at least one number. No spaces.)
2. Enter your old password for security reasons
3. Sign into the Clearblue® me app with your new details

I forgot my password, how do I reset it?

1. Tap ‘Forgotten your password?’ on the Sign In page
2. Enter your email address and tap ‘Reset password’
3. Follow the link in the email we’ll send you
4. Enter your new password
5. Go back to the Clearblue® me app and sign in with your new details

How do I sign out of my account?

Tap on Menu > My account > ‘Sign out’.
To sign in, tap the ‘Sign in’ button, enter your email and password, and you’ll see your data in the Calendar.

Data privacy and security

Is my data secure?

We collect and process data in line with relevant data protection laws and regulations applicable including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA). You can opt-in to receive emails, offers and coupons from Clearblue® and/ or Clearblue® trusted partners.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal data except as described in our Privacy Policy.

How old do I need to be to use Clearblue® me?

You must be aged 16 or over to create a Clearblue® me account and use the app.

How do I withdraw my consent?

You can withdraw your consent to the processing of your health data anytime by contacting periodtracker@clearblue.com.

If you consented to marketing communications and you no longer wish to receive marketing emails from us, an unsubscribe link will be included in all marketing communications we send you.
